Know Before You Go

Special Instructions – Judges:

  • Kati Graff and Julianne Taft are the WIT Volunteer Leaders that are assigned to assist you with the judging process
  • You can access the link to the judges virtual platform above.
  • When you first login, you will need to go to the “Judge’s Meeting Room” to meet with Kati, Julianne and the rest of the judges.  There will be a quick debrief before you sperate into your individual rooms to begin the interview process.

WIT Judges: What to Expect

Preparation:

You will receive 2 finalists information packets prior to August 31st that includes details about the finalists in the specific category you are chosen to judge.  One information packet includes data from the nominator’s application and the second includes data from the finalist’s application. Please read through your finalist packets and jot down questions and notes. We suggest you go to mywit.org and read information about WIT and what the Women of The Year awards represent in order to draft specific questions that will help you choose an appropriate winner.

Awards Ceremony:

We would love for you to join us for the Women of the Year Awards ceremony.  We plan to recognize you during the Run Of Show to share our appreciation for your time. The awards ceremony is on October 16, 2021 from 7:00PM – 9:00 PM.

Support Hub:

If you run into any technical issues, please notify the WIT Support Hub through CHAT. You will find this located at the bottom right of the page.

Day of Judging:

  • We ask that you arrive in the “Judge’s Meeting Room” in Zoom no later than 8:15 on the day of judging. We will have a meet and greet session with all the judges then cover off any remaining house keeping items. You will then be excused to meet privately with the other judges for your chosen category to prep, ask questions and discuss approach before the finalists joins you.

  • The first interview will begin promptly at 9am. Each interview will last 40 minutes (we will give you a 10 minute warning).

  • You will have 10 minutes to discuss the finalist with the other judges.

  • After each interview, your WIT moderator will record you saying a few words about the finalist, and then you will get a 10 minute break before your next scheduled interview. This recording may be used in the run of show so please be sure to not same their company name or their name in the remarks.

  • You will have an extra 10-15 minutes after the final interview to choose a winner….this can sometimes be a battle. A WIT representative will be in each room to help answer questions and provide guidance for the judging process.

  • Once you have chosen the winner, we ask that you please leave your interview room and rejoin us in the “Judge’s Meeting Room”. We will complete wrap up and then excuse all. We usually wrap up the day by 1-1:30pm
