Help the movement

WIT’s organization is structured to involve as many volunteers as possible with varying degrees of responsibility. There are programmatic positions consisting of committee membership, event speaking, company hosting, and event registration, and an combination thereof. All are challenging, all are important, and all are necessary in order for WIT to function and effectively meet our mission.

Find the right placement

Consider those skills you already have and those skills you would like to develop. Consider the experiences you bring with you to WIT and those which you would like to enjoy. Consider those tasks which motivate you and those which you find more troublesome. Review the structure of WIT and identify the program areas in which you would like to serve. Voice your interests by completing a volunteer application.

General Policies

Volunteer Testimonials

  • “WIT is an inspirational non profit that helps support women of all ages to be successful. I’ve become very passionate about the organization because of the leaders and women that tirelessly devote their time to building one another up. I highly recommend any women, of any age, in any stage of their career to get involved. If anything other than finding a united community of like-minded folks, it worth a visit.”

  • Women In Technology has many great programs to inspire girls and women to engage and be successful in the STEAM field. The programs reach women in different stages in life- from college students to young professionals, and single mothers, but all focus on empowering women to have a voice in STEAM. My time as a volunteer, has been rewarding. Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, and staff. Their passion is visible in all aspects of this organization.

  • Women In Technology (WIT) is an organization that has allowed me to find a voice in my community, volunteer my talents and skills, learn from mentors, and establish life-long friendships. Thank you WIT for being EXACTLY what I needed then and Now!

  • I joined WIT one year ago and have been very grateful for the introduction to this amazing community. Not only does WIT provide great learning opportunities through their mentor network, events and programs, but they provide leadership opportunities. As a volunteer program leader, I am gaining leadership, delegation, communication, and time management skills that I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to learn in my career as a young professional for quite some time. Thank you WIT for believing in me and constantly providing opportunities for women in STEAM!

  • WIT is an incredible community and I am so proud to be a part of it. WIT gives volunteers the opportunity to turn their passion into action, and I am so happy to support the middle and high school girls that the WIT Girls serves!”

    • “Serving with WIT has been rewarding. It’s rewarding to work alongside other female leaders and allies who are committed to changing the lives of women and girls by helping them advance in STEAM education and careers. As a WIT Campus volunteer, it is heartwarming to witness the impact being made in college students’ lives. Studies have shown the barriers women face while trying to enter into and advance in STEAM careers. Despite a number of stats showing the benefits of women working in STEAM careers, the barriers still persist. WIT develops and implements programs to help women and girls overcome these barriers to entry and provides support systems to help them advance. I look forward to continuing to serve with WIT to empower women and girls to excel in STEAM from the classroom to the boardroom.”

    • “I’ve been a part of WIT for over 15 years and I’ve seen the organization evolve and adapt to the variety of needs women in the tech field have as well as needs tech companies have. Women need challenging, high-paying jobs with room for advancement. WIT has created programs from the classroom to the boardroom to train women who can innovate, execute, collaborate, and lead tech initiatives. WIT’s Single Mothers Program is a shining example of how WIT is continually broadening its reach to support women. Single mothers with low-paying or no jobs, who have an aptitude for math/science, receive extensive training including graduating from the program with a certification in Cybersecurity. Companies benefit by employing women who are passionate about their work, appreciate the opportunity to prove themselves, and are a positive influence on those around them. Way to go WIT for continually pushing the envelope for women!
