WIT Awards celebrates women in technology for their accomplishments as leaders in business, visionaries of technology, and women who make a difference in their communicates. Additionally, one special middle or high school girl is recognized as the Girl of The Year and for the first time, WIT is awarding a college woman with College Student of the Year Award.

WIT’s Women of the Year in Technology Awards celebrate female visionaries of technology, ground-breakers in business and remarkable leaders who make a difference in our community.

Award winners will be announced at WIT's virtual awards Gala in November, across the following categories:

To qualify for a Women of the Year (WOTY) in Technology Award, nominees must:

  • Hold a leadership role in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math in a company whose primary product is in the technology field
OR
  • Hold a STEAM leadership role of a non-technology organization with authority over an IT operation, including but not limited to technology hardware, software, technical program management, telecommunications, film, music, etc.
  • Be employed by a Georgia-based business/organization or a division/subsidiary with a significant leadership role in Georgia
  • Hold a leadership or STEAM position with a technology company OR hold a STEAM position in a non-technology company
  • Have a minimum of one year within the current organization as of June 1, 2020
  • Have a primary residence in Georgia

WIT Woman of The Year in Science Award

This award will be presented to women that meet all of the following criterion:

  • Inspiration:  An individual whose example inspires others. This individual not only embraces their personal ability to influence meaningful change but influences others to embrace theirs.
  • Trailblazer:  A woman who has broken barriers in the workplace or business community in STEAM. She is a catalyst for change and has made a significant contribution as a business leader. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she has a proven track record of her success.
  • Leadership:  A woman who demonstrates exemplary leadership and has made significant contributions in a STEAM Field.  She has not only earned the respect of her superiors to rise as a business leader and role model, but she has also earned the admiration of her peers.
  • Serving Others/Hero:  A woman with commitment and passion for serving others while making an impact and leading with purpose and integrity. Has made a significant contribution to empower, advance, advocate, or support women.  She is a service leader and role model.  She empowers and supports other women in her workplace. She emphasizes building honest relationships, values input, diversity and leads by example.  She has courage and is working to change the landscape in which women serve.

WIT Woman to Watch Award

The WIT Woman To Watch award will be presented to a woman that meets all of the following criterion:

  • Emerging/Upcoming Leader, who shows tremendous promise for transforming the industry through her professional accomplishments in STEAM. She has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills as well as a strong dedication to her industry and her organization. Must be manager level or above.
  • Transformation: Contributes to transform her organization
  • Catalyst: Serves as a catalyst to help advance others
  • Role Model: Serves as a role model and mentor for women
  • Serving Others/Hero: A woman with commitment and passion for serving others while making an impact and leading with purpose and integrity.
WIT Build Her Up Award Award

The WIT Build Her Up award will be presented to a Georgia based man that champions for women in their networks, workplaces and communities. This award will be presented to a man that meets all of the following criterion:

  • Inspiration: An individual whose example inspires others. This individual not only embraces their personal ability to influence meaningful change for women in STEAM but influences others to embrace theirs.
  • Team player and active mentor who paves the road to empower women
  • Champion: Serves as a champion for inclusion of women
  • Role Model: Serves as a role model and mentor for all
  • Serving Others/Hero: Has a commitment and passion for serving others while making an impact and leading with purpose and integrity.
WIT Girl of The Year & Campus Student of the Year Award

Praises special participants from the WIT Girls and WIT Campus program for their exemplary achievement and dedication to STEAM studies. She is fully engaged in the program, attentive, actively participates and encourages others. Her participation in the WIT Programs and STEAM academics should create a lasting and positive impression on the WIT sponsors and mentors.

  • Active participant in WIT Girls programs (Middle and High School) or WIT Campus programs (college)
  • Demonstrates interest in STEAM fields
    Actively engaged in WIT events
  • Demonstrates leadership in STEAM-related activities
