WIT is excited to host their 24th Annual Women of The Year Awards in October 2023 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium with more than 1,000 technologists in attendance. WIT Awards celebrate women in STEAM who live in the state of Georgia for their accomplishments as leaders in business, visionaries, and women who make a difference in their communities.

Additionally, a special middle or high school girl is recognized as the Girl of The Year, a college with a WIT Campus Club is awarded our Campus Club of the Year, and a graduate from our Single Mothers Program is given our Single Mother of The Year Award.

    CATEGORIES & REQUIREMENTS:

    Women in Technology (WIT) empowers girls and women to excel in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM) from the classroom to the boardroom.  Technology underpins and enables growth and innovation in all areas of STEAM.

    To be nominated and awarded the prestigious WIT Woman of The Year Award, you must be in a STEAM field. Here are some examples of the very diverse fields in STEAM.

    WIT Woman of The Year in Science Award

    Technology underpins and enables growth and innovation in science. The 2023 WIT Woman of The Year in Science award will be presented to a woman that meets all the following criterion:

    • Inspiration:  An individual whose example inspires others. This individual not only embraces their personal ability to influence meaningful change but influences others to embrace theirs.
    • Trailblazer:  A woman who has broken barriers in the workplace or business community in Science. She is a catalyst for change and has made a significant contribution as a business leader. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she has a proven track record of her success.
    • Innovator:  In the last year, led an initiative in Science that created a new way of doing business or significantly altered an existing way of doing business
    • Leadership:  A woman who demonstrates exemplary leadership and has made significant contributions in the Science field.  She has not only earned the respect of her superiors to rise as a business leader and role model, but she has also earned the admiration of her peers.
    • Serving Others/Hero: A woman with commitment and passion for serving others while making an impact and leading with purpose and integrity. Has made a significant contribution to empower, advance, advocate, or support women especially in the field of Science.  She is a service leader and role model.  She empowers and supports other women in her workplace. She emphasizes building honest relationships, values input, diversity and leads by example.  She has courage and is working to change the landscape in which women serve.

    Minimum Nominee Requirements:

    To qualify for the WIT Woman of The Year in Science Award, nominees must:

    • Hold a leadership role in Science in an organization with authority over operations
    • Be employed by a Georgia-based business/organization or a division/subsidiary with a significant leadership role in Georgia
    • Have a minimum of one year within the current organization as of June 1, 2022
    • Have a primary residence in Georgia
    • WIT Board, Advisory Council, and previous Women of the Year winners are not eligible for the awards.

                WIT Woman to Watch in STEAM Award

                REQUIREMENTS:

                To be nominated and awarded the prestigious WIT Woman of The Year Award, you must be in a STEAM field. 

                WIT Woman To Watch in STEAM Award

                The 2023 WIT Woman to Watch in STEAM award will be presented to a woman that meets all the following criterion:

                • Emerging/Upcoming Leader, who shows tremendous promise for transforming the industry through her professional accomplishments in STEAM.  She has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills as well as a strong dedication to her industry and her organization.  Must be manager level or above.
                • Transformation: Contributes to transform her organization
                • Catalyst:  Serves as a catalyst to help advance others
                • Role Model: Serves as a role model and mentor for women
                • Serving Others/Hero: A woman with commitment and passion for serving others while making an impact and leading with purpose and integrity.

                Minimum Nominee Requirements:

                To qualify for the WIT Woman to Watch in STEAM Award, nominees must:

                • Hold a leadership role in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math in an organization or educational institution

                  WIT Build Her Up
                  Award

                  REQUIREMENTS:

                  Women in Technology (WIT) empowers girls and women to excel in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (S.T.E.A.M) from the classroom to the boardroom.  Technology underpins and enables growth and innovation in all areas of S.T.E.A.M.

                  To be nominated and awarded the prestigious WIT Woman of The Year Award, you must be in a S.T.E.A.M field. 

                  WIT Build Her Up Award

                  The 2023 WIT Build Her Up award will be presented to a Georgia based man that champions for women in their networks, workplaces, and communities.  This award will be presented to a man that meets all of the following criterion:

                  • Inspiration:  An individual whose example inspires others. This individual not only embraces their personal ability to influence meaningful change for women in S.T.E.A.M but influences others to embrace theirs.
                  • Team player and active mentor who paves the road to empower women
                  • Champion:  Serves as a champion for inclusion of women
                  • Role Model: Serves as a role model and mentor for all
                  • Serving Others/Hero: Has a commitment and passion for serving others while making an impact and leading with purpose and integrity.

                  Minimum Nominee Requirements:

                  To qualify for the WIT Build Her Up Award, nominees must:

                  • Hold a leadership role in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math in a company or educational institution with authority over operations
                  • Be employed by a Georgia-based business/organization or a division/subsidiary with a significant leadership role in Georgia
                  • Have a minimum of one year within the current organization as of June 1, 2022
                  • Have a primary residence in Georgia
                  • WIT Board, Advisory Council, and previous Women of the Year winners are not eligible for the awards. 

                    WIT Girl of the Year
                    Award
