WIT, in partnership with Emory University, has developed a specialized course just for women that offers a quick and affordable pathway to learn the fundamentals (the basics) of technology.  This course will serve as a prerequisite for technology beginners entering into the Cyber Security or Data Analytics courses offered by WIT Career ConneXions.  Whether you need a refresher course or are new to the world of technology, this course will teach you all that you need to know.

Information Technology Fundamentals introduces you to the essential technical and professional skills required for students to pursue specialized programs leading to professional careers and information technology certifications.  This course introduces you to the IT basics, computer applications, programming, interactive medias, internet  basics, etc.

At the end of this course, you will:

  • Understand basic concepts and terminology of information technology
  • Have a basic understanding of personal computers and their operations
  • Be able to identify issues related to information security
  • Have skills related to digital technology, applications, maintenance, networking fundamentals

EMORY’S TECHNOLOGY FUNDAMENTALS CERTIFICATION COURSE OVERVIEW:

  • 5-Week Course / 40 Hours
  • Offered virtually by Emory on Saturdays 8:30 am Until 5:30 pm EST
  • No previous experience or knowledge in technology is needed
  • Students receive a certificate from Emory Continuing Education upon completing the program
