Where and when do the WIT Awards happen?

The WIT Awards will be held on Thursday, October 24, at the Georgia Aquarium (357 Luckie Street, NW Atlanta, GA 30313). VIP & General begins at 5:30PM. The event will honor women in STEAM and announce this year’s award winners.

What is the purpose of the WIT Awards?

The WIT Awards celebrate and recognize women and girls in Georgia who have made significant contributions to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) fields. This year’s finalists were judged on September 13 and the winners will be revealed during the awards ceremony at the event.

Who can attend the WIT Awards Gala?

Anyone ready to support the empowerment of girls and women in STEAM! Individual general admission ticket sales will open in late September for $500 each. 

What is the dress code for the event?

The dress code for the WIT Awards is cocktail. The black-tie requirement has been removed, so you can dress to impress while embracing a slightly more relaxed formal attire.

Is there a virtual attendance option?

There will be no virtual attendance for the WIT Awards this year. We look forward to welcoming everyone in person to enjoy the full experience.

What are the hotel options nearby?

For those traveling to attend, here are three hotels within walking distance of the Georgia Aquarium:

• Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown – A 3-minute walk from the Aquarium.
• Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park – Just 2 minutes away from the Aquarium.
• Hyatt Place Atlanta/Centennial Park – Located 5 minutes from the event venue.

Is parking available?

Yes! Parking is available on-site at the Georgia Aquarium. Additional parking details, including rates, will be provided closer to the event.

What’s new about check-in this year?

To improve the event experience and reduce wait times, we’re implementing a new check-in process this year! This streamlined system will allow for quicker entry, so you can spend more time enjoying the evening and networking.

What updates have been made this year?

We’re excited to introduce several updates to enhance the experience at the WIT Awards this year:

• Venue Change: The event has moved from Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the iconic Georgia Aquarium for a more unique and intimate atmosphere.
• Improved Check-In Process: We’re implementing a new and more efficient check-in system to significantly cut down wait times, so you can get in faster and spend more time enjoying the event and networking with fellow attendees.
• Updated Finalist Categories: The categories for finalists have been updated for this year’s awards.

Can I nominate someone for an award?

Nominations for this years WIT Awards have closed. However, we encourage you to submit a nomination next year when the next awards season opens; view the full requirements here.

How can I support WIT’s mission if I can’t attend the event?

Even if you cannot attend, you can still support WIT’s mission to empower women in STEAM by donating here or by participating in other upcoming WIT events.
