Volunteer Job Shadow Coordinator: WIT Campus

The WIT Campus Job Shadow Volunteer Coordinator enables campus aged women to realize the art of the possible in their future STEM careers owning the overall experience of an annual Job Shadow event and experience for the WIT Campus Clubs. 

Time Commitment: Average 3-5 hours/month (concentration of time spent August – December w/ Job Shadow Day to take place in January)

Responsibilities:

  • Owns project management and execution of the annual 1-day job shadow experience
  • Works with sponsors to plan the Job Shadow experience starting in July (Job Shadow is the first week of January while campus students are on winter break – calendar permitting)
  • Meets regularly with sponsors/volunteers/committee to plan and execute JS Day
  • Secures commitment from each sponsor as to hosting location, # of students can accommodate theme/topics for the Job Shadow Day
  • Manages matching of students to job shadow locations
  • Manages all communications with Campus Clubs on the event (when registration opens, what company they are matched with, Know Before You Go, etc.)
  • Maintains the project plan, removes hurdles, escalates issues to WIT Staff 
  • Attends the JS event at one location, securing volunteers for the remaining locations for a day of volunteering opportunity
