WIT Volunteer Spotlight
Why did you start volunteering with WIT?
Women, especially women in technology are in Crisis. Lack of promotions , raises and return to office mandates ( limiting flexibility with childcare) are factors as to why women are leaving our industry. I cannot think of a better time to jump into the WIT Mission with my entire being and support women from the classroom to the boardroom.
What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with WIT?
Meeting some of Atlanta’s top minds within technology, making great friends and hopefully making a small difference each day.
What is your favorite program/event within WIT?
My personal favorite is Tech Uncorked. I leave these sessions with insights to real world technical problems and possible solutions. A close second is the WIT Social where I have the opportunity to welcome new members and YoPro’s. I like to find the shy newcomers and show appreciation for these ladies making the effort to attend and learn more about WIT.
What would you like to share that people do not know?
I write backwards perfectly with my left hand. Put a writing utensil in each had and I can mirror my writing . Try me!
Breaking my ribs and vertebrae in my back (13 bones in total). That will make anyone stronger, more resilient and grateful for each day.
Feral girl summer
