Supporting WIT…
Why did you start volunteering with WIT?
After being in a male-dominated career for 25+ years, I was elated to learn about WIT. I started volunteering at the WIT Forum events. I loved meeting the women and learning that we all shared common experiences while navigating careers in the tech industry. The power and sense of community is invaluable.
What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with WIT?
I welcome the opportunity to engage, motivate, and inspire other women who are in the tech field or now just starting to build career aspirations as girls and young adults.
What is your favorite program/event within WIT?
Wow, that’s a hard question. How do you pick one? Well, I have to say the WIT Campus Group Mentoring program is a favorite and I love the WIT Forums as well. Also, who doesn’t love the Women of the Year Awards Gala? It’s an awesome night to celebrate success!
About our Volunteer…
What about you… What would you like to share that people may not know about you?
When time allows, I love cooking, yoga, and sharing new experiences with my husband and two sons.
What experience has made you a stronger person? Growing up in a close knit family who is always supportive and loving, gives you the willpower to be a stronger person. I can’t name just one experience. Just knowing, I always have them standing behind me is something I will never take for granted and I believe has made me who I am today.
What is the best place you have traveled to? I appreciate experiencing new cultures, so India, Hawaii, and London are favorites.
What is your favorite place to eat? My husband and I may be self-proclaimed foodies! We love trying new restaurants, so favorites change depending on cuisine, atmosphere, location, and what we are in the mood for each day.
