Supporting WIT…
Why did you start volunteering with WIT?
From working in the tech industry, to watching my mom go through a divorce when I was younger, and always striving to surround myself with other women who can help pour into each other from both a personal and professional growth perspective, WIT just seemed like a natural fit for me to get involved. I deeply resonate with the mission and wanted to play a bigger role, so being selected to take on the YoPros Project Manager role this year has been an honor.
What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with WIT?
Being a part of something bigger than myself. It is so wonderful to have the opportunity to meet and build relationships with the single mothers, WIT girls, YoPros, and other groups of women that are directly being positively impacted by WIT.
What is your favorite program/event within WIT?
The WIT Awards. It’s always a blast to come together with everyone who has been a supporter and contributor of WIT to celebrate the growth, innovation, and accomplishments of the past year. Also, what girl doesn’t love the chance to dress up in a gown?
About our Volunteer…
What about you… What would you like to share that people may not know about you?
I consider myself an introverted extrovert. When people meet me, they usually assume that I’m always loud, bubbly, and outgoing, but I can definitely be more reserved sometimes too and love my alone time!
What experience has made you a stronger person?
Watching my family’s business shut down due to Covid. The way my dad handled it with such grace and kept working just as hard on something new helped me realize that when things get tough, the best way through it is to put your head down and work even harder.
What is your favorite place to eat?
Vinny’s on Windward
What is your favorite quote?
Everything happens for a reason. Cheesy I know, but I fully believe that is the truth and all will be well in the end!
