Sheltering Arms FAQs

When Uber arrives at Sheltering Arms, where do they park while they are waiting for me to drop off my child?
  • There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the building for all drivers
  • Parents have a scheduled arrival window and pick-up window; no one is allowed inside the center; we ask a series of questions upon arrival and do a temperature check prior to bringing the child into the center; parents must wear a mask for drop-off and pick-up
  • You must inform your Uber driver to wait while you drop off your child, as they are to continue your transportation to take you back home
Is there anything I need to do to register for Sheltering Arms?
  • Sheltering Arms has created a pre-registration enrollment packet that each single mother must complete
  • Each mother using Sheltering Arms childcare is required to complete the childcare forms
  • The next slide provides links to all forms to be completed
  • The completed forms are to be uploaded via the following link: https://bit.ly/WITSMPShelteringArmsEnrollment2021
    • This link also has the childcare pre-registration forms listed for ease of access
  • Updated Immunization forms are required
What are the rules around the levels of sickness that are allowed in the Sheltering Arms facility?
  • If a child is running a fever, Sheltering arms asks that the child stay at home
  • A child needs to be fever free for 24 hours before they are allowed to return to Sheltering Arms
  • Teachers and staff are used to runny noses, etc., but the fever is a non-negotiable, especially given the current pandemic
Do I need to bring diapers and formula (if applicable)? Bring a diaper bag? Bring extra clothes for infants?
  • Sheltering Arms provides diapers and formula
  • Sheltering Arms asks that the mothers provide 2 extra sets of clothing, including undergarments and socks (aside from what they wear to the center that day) in the event it is needed
  • Kids will go outside to play on playground (weather permitting) – Ensure you child is dressed appropriately (coat, hat, close toed shoes (prefer sneakers)
    •
  • If your child still uses sippy cups to drink from, you may bring your own (labeled with childs name) otherwise they will be drinking out of standard cups provided by SA
Do I need to bring snacks and lunch for my child?
  • Sheltering Arms will provide breakfast, lunch and snacks.
  • If a child has special dietary needs, you are free to bring their own food and snacks.
If my child is on medication, do I need to bring this with instructions written down?
  • Yes, and there will be a form granting Sheltering Arms permission to administer any medication.
When I arrive at the Sheltering Arms facility, where do I go and what do I do?
  • Sheltering Arms will have staff on hand to direct you as you arrive to the facility. N o parents are allowed in the center due to COVID-19 restrictions
  •  Sheltering Arms plans to have two age groups (0 2 and 3 5). Because of the mix of students, Sheltering Arms will have three teachers with each group, a floater (who will be the STEAM teacher), a manager/center director and a food prep person.
If I have a car seat and I use Uber for my transportation, do I need to take this with me?
  • Sheltering Arms has a room where the car seats can be stored. SA has protocols in place to mitigate all COVID 19 risks
Miscellaneous Information
  • Naps are from 12pm-2pm – SA center will provide bedding for each child
  • NO BEADS IN HAIR

Sheltering Arms – During COVID-19

Do you have special drop off and pickup requirements due to COVID?
  • We reopened in late June and for drop off and pick up, parents have a scheduled arrival window and pick up window; no one is allowed inside the center; we ask a series of questions upon arrival and do a temperature check prior to bringing the child into the center; parents must wear a mask for drop off and pick up
