Enterprise Applications Engineer

Cox Communications is looking for an Enterprise Application Engineer II for usage and collections platforms.  This role will be responsible for DevOps tasks like building automation scripts, developing monitoring and alerting solutions, installing & troubleshooting application software, designing and building custom scripts to support the platform roadmap. This role also will be challenged to increase application stability and harden the platform by enhancements and automation.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Experienced in DevOps methodology and working in Operations support teams.
Deploy / install application software on Linux and Cloud infrastructure, using standard tools.
Maintain enterprise applications using standard tools such as Jenkins, JobDSL, etc.
Engage in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and technical sessions to help drive upskilling and share best practices across the organization.
Provides operational support and on-call coverage for the platforms and the larger group on rotation basis.
Develops, builds, configures, customizes, integrates & tests solutions.
Triages incidents and resolves issues in a timely manner.
Produce automation scripts to integrate between services and increase efficiency using standard tools such as Python, Scala, etc.
Write and troubleshoot automated builds and deployments scripts using standard tools such as Maven, Gradle, NPM, Nuget, Docker and Ansible.
Update Administered toolset to leverage the latest features and fixes.
Creates and maintains support documentation for implemented solutions.
Investigates opportunities to use new and emerging technologies.
Configure, administrate, and maintain Linux OSs, especially regarding the management of networks to appropriately scale system needs to meet growing data traffic volume and proactively mitigate system usage needs.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field.
Professional experience with application administration on Windows and Linux operating systems: patching, ​​reading logs, installing applications.
2+ yrs of experience with development, delivery, or support responsibility in platforms using Java, micro services, Scala/Spark or Python.
Experience using APIs for automation between services.
Ability to effectively communicate with peers, and supervisors, and to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment.
Ability to adjust to rapid changes in deadlines and priorities.
Ability to balance multiple high priority projects.
Proven communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
​Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred:

Experience with standard Cloud Computing platforms such as AWS, Kubernetes and Rancher.
Experience in data or analytics a plus.
Experience in database management systems.
Experience supporting large organizations​ and working with geo diverse team.
Experience writing Jenkins files and PSLs​.
