Each Fall and Spring Women in Technology welcomes a new cohort of 20 single mothers in our Cyber Security certificate program. The WIT Single Mothers Program (SMP) will benefit these mothers who are living in poverty, interested in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) workforce education and employment, and are looking to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their children.
Please join us in congratulating the women selected to attend our Fall 2021 Single Mothers Cyber Security Education Program:
Upon successful completion of our 12-week course, graduates are awarded a Fundamentals of Cybersecurity and Information Security Certificate of Completion from Emory University!
Following graduation, WIT in partnership with Cognizant Softvision (previously HUNTER Technical) have committed to work to find jobs for the top 50% of the class giving them the opportunity to get out of poverty and start a new career that will provide a great salary with benefits.
WIT will further its relationship with the participants by offering each graduate enrollment at no charge to monthly WIT Forum Events (educational and networking breakfast meetings) for 2 years. This benefit will continue their mentoring and educational opportunities based on their individual goals “from the classroom to the boardroom.”
Since 1992, Women in Technology (WIT) has been a formidable force-an engine of change and innovation-that helps women and girls break through barriers and advance opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). WIT works to empower and educate women and girls about opportunities in STEAM by educating middle and high school girls, and young women in college and by sharing the stories of successful professional women in STEAM.
