Supporting WIT…
Why did you start volunteering with WIT?
I chose WIT because of the impact this organization has on women and girls of all ages. WIT equippes them with the tools, opportunities and network to pursue their dreams and make an impact in the technology space. I started volunteering because I wanted to give back and empower women to reach their potential without being held back by any barriers or lack of opportunity.
What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with WIT (Program you are volunteering for… ex: WIT Girls, Campus, Careers, YoPros and Events (Forums, Socials, Signature Events)?
What I find most rewarding in my volunteer role is my work with the volunteers especially the opportunity to connect each of one with the specific WIT Program that enables them to pursue their unique passions while also emboldening them to strive towards their personal goals whether that is networking, leadership, professional development, etc.
What is your favorite program / event within WIT?
My favorite program within WIT is WIT Signature Events; it is incredible seeing so many corporations and diverse individuals come together to honor, celebrate and financial support so many amazing women and girls while also having a blast!
About our Volunteer…
What about you…What would you like to share that people may not know?
One fun thing that me is that I am ambidextrous in the sense where I was born left-hand dominant but over the years, I have naturally picked up doing things right hand vs left hand. Last year, I taught myself to switch from playing tennis with my left hand to playing with my right hand due to a bad left shoulder. I can also play bocce ball, golf, throw the frisbee, and bowl with my right hand. I wonder what else I could switch over to my right hand…sounds like a fun challenge!
What 3 traits define you?
Resilience, tenacity and gratitude.
What is the best place you have traveled to?
Lady Elliot Island, Australia.
What is your favorite place to eat?
Any restaurant that has unique ambience, a delicious cut of medium rare steak and fantastic red wine.
