The Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta, Georgia (AH), is the largest housing authority in Georgia and one of the largest in the nation. AH provides and facilitates affordable housing resources for nearly 27,000 low-income households comprised of approximately 46,000 people.

These affordable housing resources include AH-owned residential communities, AH-sponsored mixed-income, mixed-finance residential communities, Housing Choice vouchers, HomeFlex, supportive housing arrangements and homeownership opportunities. AH’s programs are funded and regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  

TOP IT INITIATIVES

 Business Process Assessment (BPA) 75% complete – identify and document the processes being performed by the individual business units and lay the foundation for our digital transformation as we move from business activities to technology capabilities.  Other value added outcomes include:

• Reduce risks of HUD violations
• Identify knowledge gaps
• Address any inability to meet service level agreements and/or the inability to effectively respond to staff turnover
• Foster and measure continuous improvement leveraging capability maturity model (CMM)

Enterprise Information Management (EIM) 25% complete – promote a symbiotic relationship between people, processes, and technology while ensuring the accessibility and accuracy of our data – affording our staff the ability to make data-driven decisions.  Other value added outcomes include:

• Reduce disparate systems – creating a single source of truth
• Advanced data accessibility and reporting
• Data governance
• Dashboard capabilities
• Readiness to employ dynamic technologies such as predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, IoT, ChatGPT

Capability Based Planning – currently underway to help ensure the seamless transition from our BPA -> EIM  

SharePoint Cloud Migration 10% complete – we are a Microsoft shop (E5 designation) although we are technology agnostic in principle. We have already successfully migrated most of our Microsoft tools/components to the cloud
