Celebrating Georgia Jones: The Creative Heart Behind Our WIT Awards Centerpieces

At Women in Technology (WIT), we are fortunate to have passionate and talented volunteers like Georgia Jones. Since joining us in 2022, Georgia has become an integral part of the WIT YoPros community. This year, we were thrilled to collaborate and support her business at the 2024 WIT Awards.

Georgia is the owner of Georgia’s Finest Events, a thriving event planning business she launched in 2023. For the WIT Awards, Georgia designed the beautiful centerpieces, adding a personal touch that contributed to the event’s atmosphere. 

In addition to her creative work, Georgia volunteers as the coordinator for the WIT YoPros Mentorship Program. In this role, she helps young professionals connect with mentors to grow in their careers. Her leadership in this program has helped countless members navigate their professional journeys.

When asked why she started volunteering with WIT, Georgia shared:
“While attending my first event in the spring of 2022, I was immediately drawn to WIT because it offered something I had longed for in a professional community. What stood out to me the most was the genuine support and camaraderie among women at various stages in their careers. The sense of belonging and the safe space WIT provides is truly remarkable. I felt heard and seen in a way that transcends traditional professional networks.”

And when reflecting on her favorite event, the WIT Awards, she said:
“Among the various programs and events within WIT, my most favorite is the WIT Women of the Year Awards. There’s something truly special about putting on my finest attire and joining a gathering where women and men alike are celebrated for their outstanding achievements. The event not only provides an opportunity to indulge in delightful food and atmosphere, but also offers a chance to connect with both new and familiar faces. It’s a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of WIT throughout the year, creating a memorable and inspiring experience.”
