Why did you start volunteering with WIT?

I attended my first WOTY Awards with CoFounder of my company, as he was a Judge for Enterprise Category. I was in awe of all the Women and kept saying I want to be her and her and her! I immediately wanted to get involved as I have a BS and MS in Technology degrees and know what it has been like to be one of the few women and wanted to advocate for more women pursuing STEAM related careers.

What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with WIT?

I think its important to get girls encouraged at a young age and expose them other women in STEAM careers so they can visualize themselves doing it. I have volunteered with youth most of my life and passionate about girls in particular. At the time, I was the Youth Director at my Church and so Heather said WIT Girls would be perfect for me and she was 100% right. 

What is your favorite program/event within WIT?

WIT Girls, WOTY and Forums.

What would you like to share that people do not know?

I am a cyclist, apart of a Cycling Club and just recently completed Cycle Jamaica. My first time riding my bicycle out of the country.

What experience made you a stronger person?

Being raised by my single Mom. She always encouraged me to believe in myself and to always help others. I witnessed her always helping others in our community and its a huge part of my life now. She also introduced me to Jesus and my faith keeps me going through the good and the challenging times.

What is the best place you have traveled?

I love Nassau Bahamas. I have been on about 20 cruises there and would purchase a vacation home there if I could!

What is your favorite place to eat?

The Crab Pot Lounge,  Red Lobster, Chipotle and Pappadeaux
