Eligibility Requirements for WIT Scholarships

  • WIT GIRLS: For our WIT GIRL program participants in their senior year of High School
  • WIT Campus: For STEAM majors attending an institution that DOES have an active WIT Campus program
  • WIT Campus (Non-Campus Club): For STEAM majors attending an institution that does NOT currently have an active WIT Campus program

  • WIT GIRLS

    We are excited that you are interested in our WIT Girls Scholarships!

    Scholarship awards range from $2,500 or more and are awarded at the June WIT Connect Event. 

    Please note some important dates:  

    • WIT Girls Application Process Closes on 2/27/2020
    • Finalists Notified on 4/3/2020
    • Finalists will be required to participate in a video interview and must be available – Week of 4/20/2020
    • Winner Notified of Selection – Week of 5/4/2020
    • Scholarship winners will be required to provide a brief interview video to be played at the June Connect Event – Week of  5/11/2020
    • Scholarships will be awarded on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at WIT Connect – winners are required to attend the event to receive the scholarship.  Accommodations are not provided

    Eligibility:

    • Active participant in WIT Girls programs
    • Must currently be a high school senior, planning on majoring in a STEAM field
    • Must attend a Georgia high school or be enrolled in a Georgia home school program
    • Must be in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher
    • Must have attended at least 1 WIT Girls program/event in 2019/2020

    Requirements:

    • Answer four (4) essay questions
    • Provide a letter of recommendation from school faculty member and/or mentor
    • Provide a copy of your most recent report card or transcript
    • Attach high resolution head shot
    • Must be able to attend WIT Connect on Thursday, June 18, 2020

    Criteria:

    • Demonstrates interest in STEAM fields
    • Actively engaged in WIT Girls events, creating a positive impression of the WIT Girls community
    • Demonstrates leadership in STEAM-related activities

    Scholarship Benefits:

    The financial scholarship award will be paid directly to your confirmed educational institution.  The scholarship recipient is required to provide the WIT Office the necessary information to make direct payment to the educational institute two weeks in advance of required payment date.

    • Three (3) tickets to and recognition at WIT Connect on Thursday, June 18, 2020 
    • Recognition on the Women in Technology website, the WIT Girls web page and social media 
  • WIT Campus

    We are excited that you are interested in a WIT Campus Scholarship!

    Scholarship awards can be up to  $10,000 and are awarded at the June WIT Connect Event.             

    Please note some important dates:  

    • Application process ends on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at midnight eastern time.
    • Applicants will be notified by Tuesday, March 24, 2020 if they are selected as a finalist.
    • Finalists will be required to participate in a video interview and must be available the week of March 30, 2020. 
    • Finalists will be notified the week of April 13, 2020 if they were selected as a scholarship recipient
    • Scholarship winners will be required to provide a brief interview video by Friday, May 8, 2020 to be played at the June Connect Event
    • Scholarships will be awarded on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at WIT Connect – winners are required to attend the event to receive the scholarship.  Accommodations are not provided.

    Eligibility:

    • Must be an undergraduate enrolled in an accredited Georgia College or University with an active WIT Campus program
    • Must be an active participant in WIT Campus
    • Must be currently enrolled in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) related degree program
    • Must be in good academic standing with a 3.0 or higher GPA 
    • Must have at least 24 hours of course work remaining to complete their undergraduate degree program

    Requirements:

    • Answer and attach responses to the four (4) questions listed below 
    • Attach a letter of recommendation from school faculty member and/or mentor
    • Attach a copy of your most recent grade report or transcript
    • Attach updated Resume
    • Attach professional head shot photo
    • Must be able to attend WIT Connect on Thursday, June 18th, 2020
    • Must be able and willing to represent WIT at speaking engagements when requested

    Scholarship Benefits:

    The financial scholarship award will be paid directly to your confirmed educational institution.  The scholarship recipient is required to provide the WIT Office the necessary information to make direct payment to the educational institute two weeks in advance of required payment date.

  • WIT Campus (Non-Campus Club)
