WIT Girls Scholarships

The WIT Girl of the Year Award will be presented to a young woman with exemplary achievement and dedication to STEAM studies. She is fully engaged in the program, attentive, actively participates, and encourages others. Her participation in the WIT Programs and STEAM academics should create a lasting and positive impression on the WIT sponsors and mentors

The WIT Girl of the Year Scholarship awards one engaged WIT Girl up to $10,000. These are awarded to scholarship winners at our Women of the Year in STEAM Awards Gala.

Please note some important dates:

Application process ends on July 31 at 11:59 pm eastern time.
Finalists will be required to participate in a video interview and must be available
Scholarships will be awarded at the Women of the Year in STEAM Awards Gala. Accommodations are not provided

Scholarship Benefits:

The financial scholarship award will be paid directly to your confirmed educational institution. The scholarship recipient is required to provide the WIT Office the necessary information to make direct payment to the educational institute two weeks in advance of required payment date.

Recognition on the Women in Technology website, the WIT Girls web page, and social media

Eligibility:

Be a registered member of the WIT Girls program (Middle and High School)
Demonstrate interest in STEAM fields
Demonstrate leadership in STEAM-related activities
Acts as a role model or shows how they are giving back
Must have attended at least three WIT Girls programs in 2023-2024
Georgia must be your primary residence
Currently enrolled in a Georgia school as a Junior or Senior
Complete the WIT Girls: GOTY application
Good academic standing, GPA 3.0 or higher
Must be available for promotional WIT opportunities. WIT understands each girl may have limitations that could interfere with her commitment
The 2024 GOTY will become an Ambassador of the WIT Girls program, advocating for girls in STEAM
Parent or Guardian must sign the WIT Girls GOTY application and agree that the girl’s image and name can be used by WIT for promotional purposes

* Note: All scholarship winners will not be eligible to apply for another WIT scholarship until 24 months after their winning.

Requirements:

Answer three (3) essay questions
Provide a copy of your most recent report card or transcript
Must submit 1 recommendation from a guidance counselor or a teacher and 1 recommendation from a peer. (Please note: Peer Recommendation is due upon submission, Teacher Recommendation will be due if you are chosen as a finalist)
Attach high-resolution profile photo
Must be able to attend WIT Women of the Year in STEAM Awards Gala
Must be a US citizen
