2023 Technology and Innovation Internship

The Technology and Innovation Internship Program is a 10-week program that provides future leaders of Truist with a strong foundation within technology and the financial services industry as a whole. The program provides high performing students with an opportunity to develop their leadership and technical skills and work on innovative projects and assignments within Enterprise Technology.

• The Enterprise Technology team develops and supports the technology capabilities that drive and enable us to serve the financial needs of our clients.

What to Expect:

Education, Experience and Exposure

·        Education: Program Participants will have professional development opportunities and tailored technical training.

·        Experience: The program prepares and develops future leaders with a comprehensive understanding of technology and access to work on innovative projects and assignments across Enterprise Technology.

·        Exposure: The Program provides unique exposure to executive leadership, peers, mentors and teammates within the bank.

Innovation Technology Internship Overview

Participants will get to work on innovative projects and assignments within Enterprise Technology and will gain experience within Software Delivery, Infrastructure, Design, Innovation and Security teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

·        Build business acumen by learning about banking and financial services

·        Understand technical principles, strategic capabilities and concepts. Learn and apply use of technical systems. Develop business unit knowledge in software or infrastructure rotations.

·        Collaborate with project team members to incorporate creative content and feedback into work

·        Translate user needs and business requirements into compelling experiences

·        Help solve day to day projects and work on assignments. Receive classroom and on-the-job training

·        Network with senior executives and associates to form lasting professional connections

·        Attend enrichment activities events with peers and senior leaders

·        Receive ongoing performance coaching and written feedback

·        Shape and accelerate your career path within the Technology group and Truist

Education and General Requirements for the Internship: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability necessary for the program. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

·        Working toward a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (Technical Majors preferred: Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Innovation, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, User Experience, Industrial Design, Architecture, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction or related field etc.) 3.0+ GPA Preferred

·        Knowledge of programming language and technical concepts (for example: familiarity in adobe creative suite of design tools, JAVA, Python, CSS/HTML, Azure, AWS, WCAG etc.)

·        Experience participating in technical projects

·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·        Strong initiative and leadership skills

·        Enthusiasm for a career in financial services

·        General knowledge of the financial services industry

·        Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (average GPA of 3.0+)

·        Willingness to travel

·        Ability to relocate to Charlotte, Atlanta or Raleigh for the program

Locations

Individuals hired into the program will be located in Charlotte, Atlanta, or Raleigh for the duration of the Internship.
