The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will provide strong leadership for the HR & Legal Technology Agile Release Train to ensure flawless execution of HR delivery initiatives. Serves as the leader and coach for the Agile Release Train and assigned Scrum Teams. Responsible for oversight, coaching, and leadership for the entire Agile Release Train. Responsible for communicating with Product and Solution Managers, Product Owners, Senior Managers, and other stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure strategy and execution alignment, manage and remediate risks, remove/escalate impediments, and effectively manage dependencies. Understands Truist Technology Delivery Life Cycle model and best practices. Functional leader for Scrum Masters and Project Managers.


Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Lead Scrum and/or Kanban teams in PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and other Agile Ceremonies with moderate to high complexity.

2. Provide strong Program Leadership for HR technology delivery initiatives.

3. Responsible for delivering results across Release Train and the overall HR Technology program in terms of predictability of delivery, productivity improvement, schedule and delivery of commitments, and quality.

4. Responsible for ensuring that Truist Change Management and Incident Management processes are followed consistently.

5. Responsible for ensuring data maintained in Truist delivery tools is consistent to support enterprise-wide requirements.

6. Responsible for relevant budgeting and oversight of capital and non-capital expenditure within their ART.

7. Responsible for ensuring Truist TDLC compliance, Agile Operating Framework and Risk Framework are appropriately followed.

8. Coordinate with other Release Train Engineers for cross ART dependencies and Road Map Reviews.

9. Work with Scrum Teams to help the teams embrace an agile mindset, leverage Agile and its ceremonies, roles,
and artifacts to reach greater success.


Required Qualifications:

1. College degree in a related field of study or equivalent education and related training or experience

2. Minimum of five years Program Management experience and/or five years of experience as a Scrum Master, including experience with PI Planning and Execution

3. Knowledge of Agile delivery concepts

4. Strong communication and organizational change management experience

5. Experience in delivery function at large organizations or Fortune 500 companies

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Truist Technology Delivery Experience

2. Past Technology Team Leadership or Management experience

3. PMP certification or SAFe RTE Certification

4. Certified Scrum Master

5. Workday or Human Capital Systems knowledge and past experience

6. Experience in the banking or financial services industry

7. Past experience with Agile delivery tools

8. Experience in delivery function leading teams for large organizations.
