UI Engineer – WORK FROM HOME

The UI Engineer will be responsible for building efficient products from concept to delivery and understanding the UI as well as linking that to the overall UX Design.  They will be working on an Agile scrum which is part of a larger ART specializing in AIOps and ML.  They would work closely with the team to prepare sketches, wireframes, presentations, and prototypes of on-prem and cloud-based applications with a focus on SaaS.

About the role:

The UI Development Engineer will work with the team to analyse, design, program, debug, and modify the front end (and possibly back end) code related to software enhancements and/or new products primarily for end-users.  This developer would be responsible for owning and delivery of the User Interface within the guidelines of the Micro Focus charter (some aspects are required to look like they all come from the same company.)  Will interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. https://www.microfocus.com/en-us/products/operations-bridge-suite/overview has details about our Operations Bridge portfolio.

The UI Development Engineer will:

Demonstrate ideas and concepts using sketches and wireframes.
Prepare style guide and design components as required.
Design UI screens and prototypes.
Identify design flaws and iterate design to ensure the best user experience.
Establish and ensure best design practices and standards.
Work with the team to continuously improve the team process.
Complete design ad hoc duties as required.
Assist in communication with stakeholders to understand product goals and objectives.
Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a UI/UX design with a proven work portfolio or case studies.
Knowledge and Skills Required:

Very good programming skills in UI based programming such as  JavaScript, C/C++, Java, PHP
Knowledge and use of TML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, Bootstrap, Materialize, jQuery, AngularJS, Backbone.js, AJAX, XML, JSON, Node.js, Express framework
Experience with programming tools like Git, SVN, Karma, Jasmine, Protractor
Understanding UX is a big plus
Familiarity with AiOps / ML / Algorithms would be considered a plus
