Job Overview:
Lead Engineer, Database at Macy’s Technology reports to the Manager, Software Engineering, and plays a key role in leading, supporting SAS Platform ensuring security compliance for SAS technologies.
You are involved in administering SAS platform that includes Configuration, Administration, Monitoring, Security Management, Performance, Backup and troubleshooting. You identify and drive architectural changes to accelerate feature development or improve the quality of service (or both). You have deep and broad engineering skills and capable of standing up an architecture in its whole on your own, but you choose to influence a wider team by acting as a “force multiplier”. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Administration of SAS Platform, SAS RTDM, SAS Customer Intelligence, SAS Sizing, and other SAS modules
Ensure the platform operates as expected by taking full responsibility for the environment including bringing the system up and down, validating SAS and OS updates, and implementing fixes.
As a part of this role, you will be responsible for the enhancement, maintenance, installation, and support of our SAS Customer Intelligence platform
Maintaining SAS platform security for SAS 9.X Applications and Web Interfaces
This role also serves as liaison between SAS Developers and enterprise infrastructure support teams to ensure appropriate delivery of technology solutions (performance tuning, data modeling, capacity and utilization, backups, disaster recovery, user support, training, and documentation) in accordance with business requirements and objectives
SAS CI/RTDM Administrators ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and agreed-upon service levels for the platform
Design solutions to reduce the operational and management complexity of the platform
Executing change control and promotions activities and establishing best practices and guidelines for usage of the SAS platform
Apply professional coding standards and documentation to ensure efficient future process maintenance
Implement SAS Product patches and release upgrades as required, and coordinate support issues with SAS
Maintain Informatica suite of applications including MySQL & Postgres
Providing technical and application support at all levels; managing incidents (Levels 1, 2, and 3); solving problems related to users, applications, and data
Qualifications and Competencies:
Over 5 years of experience in managing SAS Customer Intelligence (RTDM, Marketing Automation, Marketing Optimization, CI Studio)
Infrastructure (server and database) and network proficiency
Creating and running Linux scripts and jobs as necessary for automation and administration
Perform Server patching and maintenance as necessary
Experience Installing SAS Customer Intelligence platform server on a multitier platform
Experience packaging, installing, and troubleshooting SAS 9.4 client applications on Linux/Windows OS
Strong experience troubleshooting both SAS Server and Client performance issues
Experience in using Directory Services (LDAP, AD, other) groups for provisioning access in SAS
Strong knowledge and practice in implementing standard security policies and procedures for both SAS Server and SAS clients
Thorough knowledge of advanced SAS analytical tools and functionality (SAS CI Studio, Enterprise Guide, Information Map Studio, SAS Studio, and other SAS tools)
Required excellent written and oral communication skills with technical and business teams
Experience with Open sources databases and Informatica suite would be added advantage
Familiar with Project Management methodologies
Ability to establish priorities & follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision
