We have an opportunity for a talented Principal Cloud Engineer to join our Equifax team!

What You’ll Do

  • You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • You will manage individual project priorities, deadlines and work you’re doing
  • You have the ability to translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
  • You will build frameworks and models for reliability that can be utilized by microservices for consistency, speed and maintainability.
  • You will need extensive understanding of BDD/TDD practices, code review and analysis techniques, and open source agile testing frameworks.
  • You are part of a community and participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
  • You have a real passion for innovation!  Experience with Cloud Platforms like AWS, GCP and Deploying and automating infrastructure/applications using Chef, RPM, Docker, AWS (ECS, ECR), Terraform, etc. will help us on our exciting journey
  • You have experience in overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Build Automation Work with Agile development teams to ensure smooth promotion of code, configuration and Docker images to production
  • As we transition to the Public cloud (AWS or Google), build new build and deployment patterns.
  • Oversee and adapt monitoring and alerting systems. Interact with automated monitoring and healing infrastructure to ensure healthy environments
  • Develop automation to auto-correct or completely prevent issues in our solutions
  • Perform software updates, peer code reviews, testing, and Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) analysis; respond to security threats

What experience you need

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent job experience required
  • 8+ years’ experience with (CI/CD) supporting Java/Javascript UI applications/6+ Years building Java/Spring and Microservices,, MAven/ANT, JIRA , Jenkin, BItbucket and chef.
  • 6+ years’ experience in continuous integration tools (Jenkins, SonarQube, JIRA, Nexus, Confluence, GIT-BitBucket, Maven, Gradle, RunDeck, is a plus)
  • 2+ Years in (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)/ 2+ years deploying and managing infrastructure on public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure or Pivotal)/Kubernetes
  • You are interested and able to learn other coding languages as needed
  • You can write very high quality code that is robust and easy to maintain
  • You have experience in debugging, diagnosing, and trouble-shooting complex, production software
  • You have detailed knowledge of modern software development life cycles including CI / CD

  • GCP Certifications and architect certifications
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, UX, Site Reliability Engineering, Test, Legal, Security, Privacy, etc.
  • Technical experience leading and influencing multiple teams of engineers concurrently while partnering on broader development initiatives.
  • Track record of ideation and innovating technology at scale.
  • Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, thriving at the intersection of technology and business
  • UI development (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, AngularJS, Angular and Bootstrap)
  • Software development best practices such as TDD (e.g. JUnit), automated testing (e.g. Gauge, Cucumber, FitNesse), continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins, GoCD)
  • Linux command line and shell scripting languages
  • Relational databases and no-sql database(e.g. SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Cloud computing, SaaS (Software as a Service)
  • Atlassian tooling (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket)
  • Experience working in financial services
  • Developing with modern JDK (v1.7+) or ScalaJa
  • Experience working with open source frameworks; preferably Spring,  though we would also consider Ruby, Apache Struts, Symfony, Django, etc.
  • Automated Testing: JUnit, Selenium, LoadRunner, SoapUI
