Job Description

We are seeking a Data Storage Administrator to work in a complex server, storage and backup environment to join our Storage Team. The storage environment currently includes Hitachi, NetApp, Netbackup and Dedupe technologies. The operating environment includes both storage, server virtualization and private cloud. This job requires an innovative subject matter expert in storage and backup technologies with creative problem solving skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do 

  • Contribute as a DevOps team member focused on modernization and automation
  • Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model
  • Use terraform coding to build automation following github governance processes.
  • Daily support and monitoring of large Hitachi, NetApp, Netbackup, Linux environments.
  • Monitoring, configuration, and maintenance of Brocade fabric switches.
  • Work, under guidance with senior team members, with engineering, project management, systems and database administrators to implement storage and backup architectures that utilize industry best practices in complex virtualized environments.
  • Automate storage, systems, backup administration, monitoring, data gathering and reporting tasks using PERL, Shell and other scripting languages.
  • Monitor, analyze, predict trends for Netbackup performance and adjust VTL and backup configurations for optimal performance and availability.
  • Follow change control protocols to implement off-hour modifications to storage, backup appliances and software, coordinating with the offshore team.
  • Participate in incident management through a 24×7 production support on call rotation after the initial training period.
  • Ensure documentation of end-to-end storage and backup environments is current.
  • Communicate with peers and management regarding storage/backup operational issues and initiatives.

Must Haves

  • BS or Associate’s Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required
  • 2+ years’ in cloud technologies like GCP and AWS
  • Experience in Veritas/Netbackup technologies.
  • Certifications in GCP are highly encouraged.
  • Ability to work independently as well with a team.
  • Ability to track and execute multiple projects under guidance of senior team members.
  • Programming experience in terraform and GitHub technologies.
