Supporting WIT…

Why did you start volunteering with WIT?

I am going through a career transition into software development so I joined WIT for the networking originally. I then realized I could support the cause more directly, so I attended their volunteer orientation and offered my skills up to WIT Girls. I love that I can help others find their way into STEAM careers a little more directly than I did. I also have six nieces and love the idea that I can be a resource for them one day!

What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with WIT (Program you are volunteering for… ex: WIT Girls, Campus, Careers, YoPros and Events (Forums, Socials, Signature Events)?

I volunteer with WIT Girls and I find it most rewarding because I know that I’m investing in the future innovators of our world. I love being a part of getting more women involved in STEAM and can’t wait to see more female CEOs in our future. Many of these girls are getting their first exposures to some of these technologies and I really love getting to see them enjoy it.

What is your favorite program / event within WIT?

I really enjoy the Tech Talks and Workshops that we put on with WIT Girls. Seeing them get involved is always really fun.
